What's included in the 30-day free trial?
All paid plans include a full-featured 30-day free trial with no credit card required. You'll get complete access to all features included in your selected plan during the trial period. After the trial ends, you can choose to subscribe or continue with our Free plan.
Can I switch plans after I subscribe?
Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your billing settings. When upgrading, you'll get immediate access to new features and we'll prorate the cost. When downgrading, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
What happens if I exceed my plan limits?
We monitor your usage for subscribers, components, team members, and other limits. If you're approaching your plan limits, we'll notify you via email. To continue adding resources, you'll need to upgrade to a higher-tier plan. Your existing data and functionality remain accessible.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes! We offer a 14-day no-questions-asked full refund policy after your first charge. You can request a refund directly from your billing settings. This gives you peace of mind to try CheckStatus risk-free beyond your trial period.
What's the difference between public and private status pages?
Public status pages are accessible to anyone with the URL and are indexed by search engines. Private status pages are only available on Growth and Pro plans — they require team member authentication to view and won't appear in search results. Private pages are perfect for internal infrastructure monitoring or stakeholder-only communications.
How do notifications work?
All plans include email notifications for incidents and maintenance updates. Growth and Pro plans also include SMS notifications and webhook integrations for Slack, Microsoft Teams, and custom endpoints. Each plan has monthly notification limits: Free (500), Starter (2,000), Growth (10,000), and Pro (unlimited).
Can I use my own domain?
Yes! All paid plans support custom domains with automatic SSL certificate provisioning and renewal. Simply point your domain's CNAME record to your CheckStatus subdomain, and we'll handle the SSL setup automatically. Your status page will be accessible at your branded domain within minutes.
What about data retention and exports?
Each plan has different data retention periods: Free (90 days), Starter (1 year), Growth (2 years), and Pro (unlimited). Historical incident data, subscriber lists, and analytics are retained according to your plan. You can export subscriber lists to CSV on all plans, and Pro plans include full audit log exports.
